Hi, my name is Boyce Alexander and I’m headed to Central Cabarus High School in August. In the moment that I decided that video games were the one thing I wanted to make I realized that it would take a few years to be able to make one and even more to know what all it takes to have the right audio and program the characters to move around and preform actions based upon the controls that I choose for the character. I chose this camp since I am interested in learning the fundamentals to creating a computer game and then slowly progressing up to being able to make that game a console game. I’m not interested in the money that could be made from producing the games but the fact that other people can play a game for the fun of it. Though the game itself is what sells people will criticize the game if it’s not realistic enough or the graphics or quality of the game are bad but I know that not everything in a game is going to be as the gamer wants it to be and that can be a bad thing sometimes but otherwise the game is as good as it gets. Even one part of the audio in the game messing up will make the gamer wounder how much time was put into the game itself. As a huge gamer myslef I also know that the game can’t be too big for a single server or the server of that game will lag and lag in a game can start making people think about if the game is going to do this all the time and eventually too much lag or bad audio, graphics, or programming will lead to people wanting a refund for a game. Many of the games that I play are FPS games that include Call of Duty,Halo: Reach, and Battlefield 3. I have created a game before but it just taught us about being able to make the characters move and how to make it reset and how to make the controls legible.
Hello fellow gamers! My name is Sean, I am 16 and will become a senor in high school. I have virtually no expirance in creating games myself but I am facinated at the idea. I think game maker is a very good software that makes creating games fun. Limitations: It is a game maker that makes games from the 80′s, and it is difficult to make it personal.
Gamemaker is fairly intuitive and easy to use. It falls short of giving you full control, though.
Gamemaker so far has been both simple and challenging to use. It’s easy to navigate, but hard to figure out just how to make your character do what you want. It limits customization and animation, and is also limited by the knowledge of the user
Game maker in my opinion is good for a starter program for new users. But it is lacking in some areas like customization, ocassional corruption of code or serious crashing errors. But overall something that is good to start on, even though it could use some help here and there.
Gamemaker is A very easy and interesting program. It gives you the controls to make a 80″s style (graphically) game. i find it very easy and great for my style of games. it has limitations, such as detailed customization. Other then that, it absolutly great.
eh, game-maker is ok but i would like to be able to customize more. overall that’s what i was kinda disappointed with. but other than that its pretty cool and fun. NYAN CAT FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gamemaker, in my opinion, is pretty cool, it’s great tool for beginners (like me), and it’s simple to understand.
It does have it’s limitations, but not enough to get over aggrivated about it, as again, it’s for beginners.
Gamemaker is simple to use and fun to make amateur games, but i wish we could use the more scripting side of it. Its limitations are that we can not create 3-D games.
Game Maker seems to be quite an easy program to use, as it removes the complexity of creating the code for the game itself as it lumps the code that would be required into simple, easy to use blocks, represented by icons, giving a visual representation for the code.
as for its limitations, it seems to have a significant lack of customization once the user gets beyond the initial blocks as the code within these blocks, as of yet, cannot be acceded or edited.
My opinion of GameMaker is that it is not overly complicated. Each section can be learned without too much difficulty. My opinion may be somewhat based on the fact that I have not used any other game-making programs. I cannot find any limitations to GameMaker, but I have not fully explored it.
I think that GameMaker is cool and it is lacking customization but beside that I like it.
Game maker seems a little basic and using it seems a little repetitive.
i really like game maker since i am really new to this making games of our own, but the limitations is that you cant make 3d objects and like first or third person shooter games and the musics were kind of not that great and the sprites were not that much to choose from.
i like game maker it is really easy to use. i would like to be able to model my own characters or make the game 3-d. the lay out of game maker is easy to use and tells you exactly where you need to put things
I like the simple easy-to-use drag-and-drop interface of GameMaker because I have some trouble with scripting, but GameMaker seems to be limited to very small, simple games. It has only limited ways of accomplishing things, and since scripting isn’t used very often, there are few ways to bypass the sometimes clunky controls.
I think that game maker is great. I just have to learn how to customize one of the three games.
Game makeris a good program to start with.It is a simple so you can just start up and do it.I would like to make the main part of the game. NYAN CAT FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gamemaker, is a nice program for a beginner, such as myself. It has a basic control and interface whilst allowing intermediate class functioning. I have not found many limitations on the program, some of the controls seem “stiff” in a since.
